Mission Statement

Officially known as the Verein der Freunde der Princeton Universität e.V. and called the Princeton Alumni Association of Germany (PAAG) the club is part of Princeton's alumni network. The Club is entirely run by volunteers and members include alumni, former and current students, professors and lecturers, and former visiting scientists. There are approximately 400 Princeton alumni living in Germany.

Our primary focus is the promotion of German-American cultural exchange. We pursue this goal by

  • organizing attractive events for our club members, other Princeton alumni and the general public including renowned speakers, company visits, and regional get-togethers,

  • supporting the Princeton Summer Work Program, which arranges summer internships in Germany for Princeton students,

  • recruiting gifted German applicants and applicants based in Germany, to study at Princeton

  • connecting our international alumni through networking events, extending to other Ivy League and renowned universities

The Princeton Verein is more than just an alumni association. Promoting European-American friendship through the above-mentioned activities is more important than ever and anyone in favor will be cordially welcomed as a member.

Every year we organize a Summer Event in a different city in Germany and our traditional Thanksgiving Dinner in November. Additionally we hold our Annual General Meeting reporting the Club's activities.

We also have three local Chapters, Berlin-Brandenburg, Munich and Rhein-Main, who organize local events and are connected with other university alumni groups through the Ivy Circle.
